Before the first trial...

Before the first trial Before I started deciding the foods I was going to cook through these two years I had to do a survey. In this survey I was going to conduct I would be able to analyse the requirements for a teen to be interested in cooking.  I asked 4 simple questions: Do you like to cook? How many times do you cook for yourself? What encourages you to cook? What is a discourages you from cooking on a daily basis?  These 4 question were replied to by a total of 26 teenagers. I collected results which were quite similar to the reasons why I would avoid cooking.  Maximum people liked to cook. Maximum people were either cooking for themselves once in a month or once a week.   Most people were encouraged by the foods taste and the idea of having something to do/eat.   Most people were deterred from cooking due to the time it took to cook the food, the mess after cooking, and the skills required to cook. The First Trial

The First Trial The first week of passion project has been very exciting and at the same time it has been very fast paced. In the very first week I realized how much effort I would have to put in over the two years and how quickly I'd have to prepare for my deliverables. For the first week I was to prepare one dish which one of my friends could cook using my instructions.  For this I had to first find a dish and practice it. While brainstorming which dish would be feasible for a 16 y/o student to cook without wanting to give up,  I researched on the reasons why collegites choose to refrain from trying out cooking. I was not surprised to see  that most children were scared to try it due to the possible mess they could make,  the time it took and the fact that they didn't possess the skills to cook. These deterrents were my main guide lines to choose a dish. After a day I finalized on 'unda roti' with a cheesy schezwan twist as teenagers would enjoy eating it, it...

What are passion projects?

What are passion projects? In simple words Passion project is a two year process in which one gets to explore their passion and at the end of those two years gets to show a product. To elaborate, in this process I have to choose a project on a topic I am inclined towards, affected by or find a concern regarding.  In these two years I'll be creating deliverable goals at regular intervals as well as updating this blog every week to keep everyone in touch with my progress. To review the progress we will also have 'I can' speeches where we will be presenting to the parents our idea and how we are planning to go about this two year journey. These speeches will also be given to the upcoming grade 11 batches to inspire them for their journeys. Through this journey I will be exploring my hobby, inclination, and passion of cooking but in a different way. I will be creating videos every month in the effort to get teenagers to learn a life skill that is crucial. These vi...
